Stephen Hsia ‘08 is a public policy major at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School. A native of Richmond, British Columbia, Steve enjoys travel, cartooning, and the outdoors, and hates referring to himself in third person.
Enterprising Ideas is Steve’s blog on his senior thesis, “Social Enterprise in the United States: Possibilities, Prognosis, & Policy” [forthcoming, naturally]. Some of his research questions include:
- What is ’social enterprise’?
- What is the state of social enterprise in the US?
- In which areas have social enterprises been most successful in advancing a charitable mission and/or generating earned income?
- How can public policy best support the growth and sustainability of social enterprises?
Enterprising Ideas is intended as a interactive forum where Steve can share findings from his research, bounce ideas with his readers, keep his adviser updated, and procrastinate till April 9, 2008.
